Do I Need To Engage My Safety on Draw?

Good afternoon, I am looking to start shooting Steel Challenge either Limited or CO. For limited I would be using a TSO and am wondering if I need to engage/Disengage my safety during each run. I understand in between stages it will be unloaded with hammer down so it would not be engaged at that time.

The main reason for my asking is I have large hands and currently use a Shadow 2 flat safety (to avoid bumping it) which is a pain to disengage on draw without adjusting my grip. Up until now the TSO has just been a range toy so having the flat safety did not matter.

I could not find anything about this on forums or in the rules other than you cannot disable your safety.

All single action CF pistols have to have the safety engaged when holstered.

8.1.2 Self-loading firearms:
Single action – chamber loaded, hammer cocked, and the safety engaged.
PCC -- Ready Condition: carbine will be prepared with a loaded chamber,
loaded magazine inserted, hammer cocked.
Rimfire firearms -- rifles and pistols will be prepared with a loaded chamber,
loaded magazine inserted, hammer cocked.
“Double action” – chamber loaded, hammer fully down or de-cocked.
“Selective action” – chamber loaded with hammer fully down, or chamber
loaded, and hammer cocked with external safety engaged (see Divisions in
Appendix D).
“Striker fired/Safe Action” – chamber loaded, handgun cocked, external
safety engaged if present.

Thank you for the clarification.
