How to make barricades for practice

Recommended Posts

I want to make a few barricade walls to use in practice.  Most of the one's I see at matches are pvc or tube steel with construction mesh fencing inserts attached with strip ties.  I would prefer to go with pvc for my use since it's light.  Is this the recommended material and what diameter pvc? How should I secure them to the ground?  If there are any plans or photos that are available that would be helpful.  Otherwise, I'll just wing it.

I use target stands I made out of 1-1/2" PVC pipe with 1" x 2" sticks.  Just staple old targets or cardboard.  Walls longer than several feet long take two stands to make.

I don't need the cardboard to run all the way to the ground.  Just enough "wall" to act as a vision barrier (usually around 18").

I have holes in the stands to nail them down but as long as its not a windy day, I don't need to stake it down.
