truespode
FN announced their 509 Tactical and it comes with two 24 round magazines.(https://fnamerica.com/press-releases/fn-announces-expansion-fn-509-series-release-fn-509-tactical-pistol/) All I have been able to do with my Carbon Arms extended baseplates is get to 23 rounds in my FNS 9Longslides and the cost of the baseplates + magazines are more than the 24 round FN magazine ($60 retail). Does anyone know the dimensions of the new 24 round magazine and if it is more than 140mm? I would like to buy a couple to use for Limited Minor and C/O. The stock 17 round FN 509 magazines work in the FNS pistols so I don't see why the 24 round magazines wouldn't either. Thanks Ivan
truespode
I have not had a chance to measure one but was told it is about 6" which would put it over 150mm... can anyone confirm?
Chuck Anderson
150mm sounds about right. That's about the same dimension as the factory Glock 24 rounder. I think they made them for a military RFP and released them to the Civilian market. Definitely not made for USPSA/IPSC.
