h110
Have 1948 vintage 1911 in 38 super with non-ramped kart barrel. Gonna start reloading for it soon, and was wondering which brass to use. I've decided on Starline brass, but don't know weather to use +P or Super Comp. I presume they both headspace on the case mouth. I've read where some extractor work might be needed with the super comp. Does this work need to be done by a gunsmith or can it be done by self. Thanks in advance...Bill
missed it by that much
Regular Ole 38 super should work. Not certain but on mine when I used super comp I had to adjust the extractor Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
rishii
The original super did not headspace on the case mouth, it wasn’t until the Nonte chamber reamer was developed did it headspace on the case mouth. due to the age of the gun, I would use regular super brass, way back when everybody ran a super in open, the go to brass was Remington 38super +P also do no use any load data on this site, the majority of what you’ll find here is to a open gun running major power factor
