Lee G
I must be stupid. I got the stock off, but I can't get the shim out of the stock. It looks like the plastic piece the pad attaches to should come off but I can't get it to budge. I looked in the manual which references several figures that aren't in the manual. It's crazy. GunCat
The metal shim inside the stock? That shim is held in place at the top and bottom by the polymer bracket is sets in. After removing the nut on the stock bolt reach inside with a long screw driver or punch and slide/twist the shim to the side and it will come out of the bracket. When reinstalling the shim a magnet is helpful to lower it into the stock before twisting the shim into place.
