Letting rounds impact plastic barrels in any way shape, or form is one of the most dsangerous things we do on a regular basis and we do it without even thinking it through. I think they are most useful as kneel shoot through them props and as places to discard long guns into. Using them anywhere near targets as hard cover is an accident waiting to happen. Heck, shooting through them without the entire end being cut off (lip left) with a shotgun is bordering on insanely dangerous and I don't even want to think about where a glancing .223 round would be headed after contacting a barrel.
