STI gunner
I have one of JL's 9mm shortys, it is soft shooting and it has a nice balanced feel to it. It's one of the best!
Got Boost?
I shot Craig’s Bedell last weekend and had another guy's 38 super to compare it to. Craig’s 9mm shorty was lest violent and just as flat as the 38 super. Bo Bo, Who's super did you shoot that day and what bullet? My guess is you were shooting 115's from the super. I too was given the opportunity to put some rounds through Craig's gun. I found that it was harsher than my full size, Benny Hill built, major nine, which is definitely harsher than my 38 super; however, I was able to transition the short gun much quicker. (Probably would be a learning curve as I was transitioning past the intended target) My week had shots were more comfortable; probably due to the reduced muzzle flip. I also found that the recoil master was very noticeable it was as if you could feel the springs working, it had kind of a glitchy feeling when racking the slide. I have put some rounds through a couple of different builders short 9's and this gun was noticeably softer than the others. All in all, I think it was a very well built gun and if a short 9 is your thing I would seriously consider one of these.
PaulW
Dan uses full size slides that he cuts down. This keeps the slide stroke the same as a 5 inch gun.
