jwilkinson6
What oil/lube do you guys use to maintain your shotguns? Specifically those that shoot a Versa Max
Chriswakey
Cheapest synthetic engine oil you can get hold of! Don't put any oil near the gas cylinders/pistons they should be installed dry!
mic2377
The 2 Versamax's in my family have required almost no maintenance. Have used my universal cheap gun lube of ATF/engine oil mix on the bolt and small parts, a tiny bit of grease on the bolt lugs, and some anti-seize on threads of the gas piston housings. Overall it doesn't seem to matter if they are clean or dirty. They run and run and run.
jwilkinson6
I appreciate the reply. I have had no issues, that I didn't cause myself, with the VM. I've been using tractor hydraulic fluid on everything for years($34/5gal) and have had no real issues. The only time I had a real problem with my versamax was one of the pistons was stuck in place after 800+ rds without any maintenanceSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
