  1. The factory one piece tube was developed in conjunction with Carbon Arms I'm lead to believe although it's not as good. I've been toying with a Roth one for a while but not living in the US was struggling to get one shipped to me. So I'm pretty gutted they've stopped making them as well. I did get all the bits to make a one piece tube in a similar design to the carbon arms one I've just not got around to doing it. I did think about the factory tactical one piece as well. But even when Remington still existed and you could buy spares they never listed all the parts required to do it.
  2. Could the Burris fast fire mount that sandwiches between the stock and receiver help. It's mounted lower.
  3. The Tooth and nail armoury foreend is excellent for quad loading strong or weak hand.
  4. I checked with Lee and they say this will work. Which is good as I can use my existing powder measures. Thanks for your help.
  5. Also if you have them welded it seems to change the structure of the metal and make it brittle. I had two welded after being drilled and both buttons completely broke off along with the extended buttons.
  6. I'm looking for a powder thru die for 308 cases. It doesn't need to flare the neck just allow charging on a progressive press. I looked at the lee charging dies but there two die kit seems to exclude 308. Can anybody suggest one?
  7. Where did it split? I only ask as I found out when I was trying to fit mine that it is made in two halves and pinned and epoxied together. (Don't ask me how I found out). I just continued on the fit it and you can't see the join when it's fitted and it doesn't affect the performance or looks at all.
  8. Glad you got it sorted and like it. I think I'm going to have to order another for my spare gun now!
  9. Having now tried the forend I can say it makes a big difference to not only the ease of loading but also the consistency of a good load. Like it!
  10. I had the same problem. Someone on here on the other thread pointed me in the right direction. But basically take the barrel off the gun fit the forend to the barrel and tap it home. I used a light wooden mallet. Once fitted to barrel fit barrel to gun. Hope that helps.
  11. I load both strong and weak hand depending on the stage. Makes a difference to both!
  12. They should be different diameters so the smaller diameter one goes inside the bigger one! I'll try and send you a picture via pm when I get home.
  13. I cut mine down as well and tapered it in to the receiver but was still getting hung up. No problems since fitting the new forend.
  14. X By dropping the match saver do you mean removing it completely.
  15. Yes I have and living in the UK it cost me a fortune to get one after HM Customs and Excise slapped there cut on! However it makes a night and day difference to being able to consistently do quad loads strong or weak hand. I've taken the dremmel to mine to smooth it to the receiver. Mainly for aesthetic reasons. I am very impressed by its function though. I will also be buying another for my spare gun prior to the IPSC world championships in France this June. I hope that helps.
  16. I wonder how many times this has actually happened with a live round? And what the consequences were?
  17. Right I finally found some time to have a good look and try getting the forend on. The good news is it's on and it feels and looks good. Also even though I managed to split it where it is pinned and epoxied when it's all nipped up with the mag tube nut you can't even see the join. I'm taking it to the range tomorrow so I'll report back after I've tried it. I can at first glance second the comments above, it does feel better and point better and I'm sure it will aid the quads. I may end up having to buy another one for my spare gun.
  18. I tried that and in the process found out it is made in two pieces and pinned together. I then tried getting it on in 2 pieces. Still sat on my desk.
  19. I have one and I've tried to get it to go on and it just won't fit. It's a very expensive desk ornament at present.
