How to find the last topic that you have read?

When viewing Unread Content from newest to oldest, how do you know when you have reached the point or topics that you have seen before but have chosen not to read?

In other words, I do not want to be re-browsing topics from the past that I have chosen not to read or partake in.

For example if I have browsed all the current posts up to 8/24/16 and then sign on today 8/27/16 and am browsing topics from newest to oldest, how will I know when I have reached the posts on 8/24/16 that I have already browsed but have not participated in other the just "dumb luck."  I am trying to find a sign, a marker or signal that I have reached that point other than relying on my fading memory.

I hope this is clear, if not please advise and I will try to clarify.

Click 'Mark Site as Read' before you sign off. That clears all unread content that you are not interested in.
