bradhall
You'll hav bro excuse my ignorance. Is that similar to these or more like the finish on a standard bolt? Have you done any mags, wondering how slick the finish is?
PrimaryBruce
Phosphate is what AR-15 carriers are finished in, some 1911 slides, etc. When kept lightly oiled, it makes for quite a slick finish. Yes, we refinish a lot of magazines and steel muzzle devices in phosphate. It's very cost effective and does a great job. AbitNutz
These people do a great number of the OEM's. I have had them do 4 of my rifles and pistols. http://www.blacknitride.com/ You know it's not a coating, right? The actual name is Ferritic Nitrocarburizing. They don't do any disassembly or reassembly. They just process the parts. They do a flawless job, Black Nitride is my preferred finish. I'm not a fan of the stainless look and tend to "Black Nitride" it. I can't say enough good things about H&M or Black Nitride.
