Beretta 92 trigger bar spring

I am thinking I have worn out my first trigger bar spring. Today during a practice session i suddenly lost my DA trigger pull. It was as if the safety were on, but SA was normal. After removing the grips and playing around with the gun, I was able to get the DA to work by lifting the trigger bar ever-so-slightly, or I could just nudge the hammer back a hair and the trigger bar would raise and engage. Have I diagnosed this right? Or might it be something else?

Sounds like you have it nailed either that trigger bow spring has broken or got too weak to lift it up enough to engage the DA. That spring was not too difficult to access if I remember correctly. I have only had mine apart 1 time to the level of changing hammer trigger etc.

Look at the right side of the gun, just under the trigger bar. You will need to remove the grips. Is there a spring present?

Have you had the grips off the gun recently?

If yes, it may be dislodged or lost, if not, it is likely broken and will need to be replaced.
