Age: 59 Birthplace: Tonopah, Nevada Resided In: Wheeling, West Virginia Visitation: March 04, 2005: 1 - 9 p.m. Service: March 05, 2005: 10:00 a.m. Cemetery: Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, Sherrard, WV COWAN, Gerald Lee, 59, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Saturday, February, 26, 2005, at his home. He was born in Tonopah, Nevada, June 16, 1945, son of Edna Mae Kope Cowan Kartanowicz and the late Malcolm G. Cowan, Jr. Mr. Cowan was a retired self-employed financial business consultant. He was a member of the Vineyard Church, Wheeling; former vice president of Tire America, Wheeling; an electrical specialist for Rockwell International, Orange County, California; and former vice president of development of Barris International, Orange County, California. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Frank Kartanowicz. Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife of 24 years, Andrea K. Stock Cowan; two sons, Reverend Christopher G. Cowan and his wife, Genevieve of Colorado Springs and their children, Amanda and Hannah Cowan; Timothy C. Cowan and his wife, Marie of Morra Bay, CA and their children, Chelsea, Timothy and Taylor Cowan and Jessica Feist; two daughters, Andrea Slama and her children, Rachel Keedy and Alyssa Slama, of Portland, Oregon; Christine Coen of Wheeling; and a sister, Sandra "Marty" DeGasperis and her husband Ronald of Wheeling Friends will be received 1 - 9 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2005, at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, where services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005, with the Reverend Jennie Newbrough and the Reverend Christopher G. Cowan co- officiating. Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, Sherrard, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, WV Affiliate, Inc., Upper Ohio Valley Chapter, P.O. Box 1115, Dunbar, WV 25061.
