MikeRush
I have an AR project I am working on with a special requirement. I was hoping to use a KMR Alpha rail but the barrel nut is too long (as measured from the flange it seats against on the barrel towards the muzzle). A standard AR barrel nut will work, but it seems like all the handguards that fit to the standard nut have a large OD (Troy, Samson Evo, Rainier, etc). Most of the carbon fiber or generic aluminum cylindrical handguard nuts have holes for the gas tube to pass through around the circumference of the nut- which will not work on my project. It looks like the MI G2 nut might be short enough, and those would fit my OD preference- is there anything else I am missing? I am going to put the gun together with a standard nut and go test fire with a glove.
