Stuck in C
I would like to start using my CZ Std IPSC as my Limited gun; I now have a major load that works well, I've been dry firing etc. But, I have a problem applying the safety with any kind of ease or speed. It is shaped completely differently from the 1911 safeties I'm used to, and the technique I use doesn't work well. It seems to take a lot of force, and I can't just use the top inside edge of my thumb to click it on as with a 1911. Is there a trick to this? Should I change my grip somehow to use the pad of the thumb on the safety? Anyone make an aftermarket replacement that looks like a 1911? By the way, I don't have any problems disengaging it. Carlos
I took a couple of file strokes accross the points on the inside of the thumb safety (the ones that the detents ride over). Now my safety comes off quicly but is hard to fully engage. You want the safet to come off easily, but re-engagement is really not important. I suppose you could cut one coil off each side detent spring. D.C. Johnson
