winstsa1
I have an M2 that is not drilled and tapped from the factory....want to put a red dot on it but it doesn't look like there is enough meat there to thread for the rail...? What's the danger of the screws not holding under recoil ?
amccallister
Look up the Burris Speed Bead. It allows you to solidly mount a dot with no drilling and tapping.
winstsa1
Thanks amccallister...... I've already looked at that option but prefer a picatinny rail so I have more options in sights such as Aimpoint(already have a couple).
openclassterror
The back half of the receiver is much thicker behind the barrel recess. You will probably find, however, that once you add a Pic rail and an optic your cheek weld is becoming impossibly high. You will need to made significant shim adjustments to get drop and cast back into the appropriate range. You may need to add a cheek pad/ riser as well. zmanktm
You should check out the Arredondo Shotgun Mount. I have both the speed bead and the Arredondo and like the Arredondo because it mounts solid to the vent rib where the Speed bead is sandwiched between the stock and the receiver.
