sgtis108
I've just got my new 550 set up, and I'm ready to get started. I've got several pounds of bullseye, and it's all that's availiable locally. I use it in my 9mm and 38 loads. Now I just need a recipe. I really like the heavy bullet/ fast powder combination in everything else. So I wanted to try a 230gr LRN for the 45acp. Can I make major with bullseye? Anybody else using bullseye for IPSC/IDPA? I'll be shooting a 5 inch Gov. model Colt. Thanks
TBF
SG, I have used 4.2 - 4.3 GR. Bullseye under 230 jacketed but never chronoed the loads. With a Rem GS 230 and Win. primers this combo shoots really well. 5.0 GR. under a 200 GR. bullet is a classic load, Bill Wilson liked the H&G #68 lead bullets and Win. primers, I really like the Raineer 200 FP better in this load , but what do I know compared to Bill ? Neither of these loads is near Max. Travis F.
Harmon
4.5 bullseye and lead 230 should make a 190 pf load. i load 4.0-4.1 and a 230 LRN..it gives me major power, but i forget what the PF is. i prefer the RN bullet to SWC because the round nose is more reliable.
