93notch
Hey everyone i am picking up a new to me Sti edge in 45 acp. I have been reloading for 9mm, 223 300 blk out and 260 remington for a while now. But just not getting a 45. I currently have unique and power pistol as far as pistol powders. I am looking for a fairly soft shooting load. I dont have any bullets or brass yet but just looking for some suggestions. Usually we use xtreme bullets but looking for any suggestions. Thanks
bowenbuilt
If you want soft you want a fast burning powder and a heavy bullet. A 230 grain anything ahead of Clays, Clay Dots, e3, RS Competition, Red Dot, N310 or something similarly fast. PP and Unique are a little slow for softest shooting and tend to be loud and snappy. 93notch
does anyone have a preference on style of bullet started to look into lead bullets but what are the advantages to the swc to the round nose style?
sdbreload
I like WST 4.3gr with 230gr RN for a soft load. I'm using Delta Precision FMJ and Xtreme plated. SWC gives you a bigger, cleaner cut hole in the target. Edited February 23, 2015 by sdbreload
