Lucan
I recently picked up my first Tanfoglio, a Witness Limited in 9mm. This one has been on my wishlist for a while now and the time was ripe. Only one trip to the range so far and I'm happy to say that though it shoots low and to the right, it's pretty accurate. I just need to raise the sights a bit and nudge left. At 25 yards I had to aim a good 9-10" above the target. Two fit and finish questions for you Tanfoglio owners and enthusiasts: One, the finish on the safety looks a bit rough. I asked the same question on another forum and most thought that this wasn't normal. In your opinion is this worth contacting EAA over? Given their customer service reputation, I'm skeptical that they would offer me a replacement. Two, the slide hangs over the rear of the frame slightly. A bit too much to my eye, but if it's something that I can adjust on my own I'm probably fine doing so. What do you think? Is this within the range of normal? Thanks in advance. CleverUsername
I dont think eaa will send a replacement safety. The safety on a limited has always had funky cast marks but it doesnt really effect function. The slide hanging over can be remedied by filing the rear of the locking lug of the barrel
Nealio
If the slide is hanging off that could mean the barrel hood wasn't fitted correctly. Could you take a pic of the ejection port/barrel when the gun is in battery (like the picture you posted).
madworx
My limited .40 slide hangs over the rear exactly like yours. Never noticed until you pointed it out. Gun is very accurate and runs like a champ.
Lucan
Thank you for the replies. Could you take a pic of the ejection port/barrel when the gun is in battery (like the picture you posted). Here are two shots of the ejection port with a snap cap in the chamber: Thanks again. Nealio
From those pics it looks like it's in battery
bikerburgess
By rear of the locking lug I assume we are talking about inside where the slide lock pin goes, making that area longer so the barrel and slide can move father forward?
