Marklar709
Does anyone else struggle with seeing the target in the background when focusing on the front sight? Maybe it's just being new at the game, but I'm struggling on calling my shots when focused on the front sight. Any pointers or drills that can help me get over my problem. wanttolearn
i think this is pretty normal...such a significant difference in focal lengths. bullseye shooters may fell differently but i recently had the opportunity to pose this same question to Mr. Rob Leatham. I hope i'm not miscommunicating his answer but as i recall, for the faster competition like shooting Mr. Leatham stressed seeing the target and accepting a little blurriness to the front sight. that's not to say that he doesn't precisely align the sights...he does but he biases the sight picture accordingly. a colleague who competes in bullseye shooting, a sport in which time is more liberal and accuracy predominates, advocates the use of a narrow aperture device he attaches to his glasses which allows him to more capably focus on the front sight. hope this helps
mgardner
Here's a video of what happens with different sight pictures.
