Ladyvalea
I was reading the recoil magazine issue 13 review of 1301 and it mention an unloading process made easier by pressing up on the shell elevator and backward on the bolt release allowing rounds to come out with no need to cycle the shell via the action ! Anyone try this in the 1301 ? Because I'm having a hard time holding the elevator up while pressing the bolt release down and getting my finger chewed up with shells coming out backwards ! I'm just looking for a quieter way to practice my loading at home ! My poor dogs are not digging the racking noise ! lt259
This works well to unload the magazine tube without chambering the rounds. The trick is to control the round as it comes out of the mag tube. When you push the lifter up hold your finger against the base of the shell in the tube. This way once you press the release you control the shell under spring tension before it can accelerate into your finger.
