steviesterno
Hey all, So I'm liking the idea of a 4" 1911 with an officers frame, since it's the hard part to hide. I like the M&Pc, but I might get the chance to pick up a tuned 4.5" 45. Wondering if it was possible to cut the grip down to make it into an easier to conceal blaster? I've seen it done with the glock stuff, but never with the M&P. also curious if I could then put crimson trace shorty grips? Anyone have any ideas? Therealkoop
Yes it can be done. I think Doug at ATEi has this as an option on his page.
steviesterno
has anyone done this themselves? Sorry for the thread bump, but I can't seem to find a 1911 that's remotely affordable, so I'm thinking a cut down M&P might just have to do till then. steviesterno
Also trying to figure out if I could get the crimson trace compact grips and tool to fit.
Kyle7735
Due to the way the backstraps are done on the M&P it is drastically more difficult to do than a glock. However. Sometime in the near future Stephen Pineau of M3 strategies is coming out with an adapter piece (Basically just a metal shroud to hide the recoil spring) that allows full sized slides to be placed on compact frames.
