Bowers Posted January 24, 2014 Share Posted January 24, 2014 I'm flying from the west coast to Johannesburg South Africa via Hong Kong, Hopefully with Rifle and ammunition. My question is even know my luggage will remain with the airline inside security do I need a transit permit for Hong Kong? I haven't got many answers on the safari forum so I thought I would check with competition shooters to see if anybody has experience transiting through Hong Kong Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Bowers Posted January 24, 2014 Author Share Posted January 24, 2014 The airline is Cathay Pacific they take the CYA approach they say they'll except the rifle and ammo but I need to have all the paper work in order which is not a problem for here or South Africa but they lead me to believe there is some kind of transit permit for Hong Kong but so far I haven't had much luck finding out for sure.
