Fergus
Decided to try out a red dot on my P226 as shooting indoors is a pain with iron sights. Lots of fun so far and the red dot hasn't given me any issues being mounted on the slide. We'll have to see how it works out long term. TimMc
What did you use to mount it. It looks like you have some sort of mount under it.

Fergus
TimMc, Yes there is something underneath -- I have a Cadex mount that fits to the slide and mounted the Doctor Optic on the mount. Cadex says any standard red dot but I know the trijicon doesn't fit the mount as they had one in the store which they tried. So I ordered the Doctor Optic red dot that Cadex mentions in their brochure. Here is the link to Cadex http://cadexdefence.com/index_sub3.html#products I'm happy with the quality of the mount and the fit of mount / red dot / slide. I only have 100 rounds or so down range with it so its too early for me to say how its going to stand up - but given the quality I'm optimistic.
