Workingspy
So I got a new P9 LSP comped slide today and all I needed to do was intall the firing pin, spring and retainer. So I did and first few racks once back togeather were fine, all of a sudden the retainer plate fell out and I realized the frining pin was stuck forward, you could see it out the front about half and inch. I fiddled around and finally with the slide off I banged the barrel back and the pin and spring flew out and look fine, that thing had some force good thing I put on my googles just in case. Just wondering why this might happen or what I did wrong? Thanks again . Cheers, Evan Edited August 31, 2013 by Workingspy
kneelingatlas
The firing pin return spring is too short. Did you clip any coils? The pin gets stuck in the breach face if there aren't enough coils to stop its forward momentum.
Workingspy
Now that I look at it closely I think it's definitely been cut. Why would someone do that? I guess I'm looking for a new spring now great lol.
kneelingatlas
Someone clipped coils in an attempt to alleviate light strikes caused by a reduced power hammer spring (ask me how I know ). Not onlu was it obvious when you look at it, but when I looked side by side I is way way smaller. Here's a pic of the two lol. .
