A tool that brownells sells is yavapai 1911 auto sear tool its a little microscope-much easier to use than setting up dial indicators to see what the sear is doing to the hammer! You can manipulate the hammer and sear under the scope and see if you are cocking or decocking the hammer. It costs 99.97.
