jimbullet Posted June 22, 2013 Author Share Posted June 22, 2013 I was also told that a 40 S&W is more forgiving if the extractor does fail (not sure if that is true or not), and is still likely to eject the empty casings each time, though may throw them erratically in different directions, but at least it is less likely to create a stove pipe situation or worse a failure to extract altogether, unlike with a 38 super. I guess rather than spend the money on installing one, I will just bring with me a spare extractor to a match for now. Thanks to all your valuable inputs as they were all very helpful.
