Chuckie45
I took a factory 22/45 target and turned it into a open gun for Ruger Rimfire. One of the things I did was change out the barrel(which is the sereal # part the requires an FFL to get). So now I still have this barrel and a few of the stock internal parts and want to make a working pistol. The only after market frames I've found are volquartsen. IMHO volquartsen parts are the best out there, but I'm looking to go more economical for this one. Any one know where I can find a frame and bolt? Chuckie45
I called ruger's pistol division today. They will not sell a frame or bolt to me. Pretty disappointing.
alecmc
I went through this while considering an open rimfire build, best options were either volquartsen or buying g the cheapest mark 2/3 gun you can get your hands on
Chuckie45
Alecmc, thats exactly what I did in the first place. I'm just try to figure out if that poor barrel that got left behind can be made whole again.
fdc1999
I have a burris fastfire mounted on the dovetail of my mk2 for steel, and I have been looking at this frame "VOLQUARTSEN - RUGER MKII/III TARGET FRAME". It looks great, but the cost is higher than that of my mk2. Maybe you can find a beater at a pawn shop?
stage12m
some frames do pop up on GB and ebay every once in a while, sometimes you can get them for a decent price other times you might as well just buy another 22/45 lol
