revchuck
I just replaced the two year old Wolff 14 lb. recoil spring in my 9x19 CZ-75B with a 16 lb. one by the same maker. There was a lot more difference in length than I thought there would be due to the setting of the older one. It actually took some creative language to get the new one to fit without binding. It's currently in the safe with the slide locked back to encourage the new spring to take a set. About how long will it take before this thing gets to be a "usable" length? RogerT
Hi all. Question: Do springs really set without being used? I always thought that the "work" a spring does during use makes it set. Do we have any metallurgist on the forum?
Vlad
Here is a question, almost everyone fits 1911's by triming a loop or two, but does anyone trim CZ springs? As far as I can tell the Wolff CZ springs take a set iof about 2 loops shorter and then stay there, which doesn't make much of a difference when it comes to how it fits.
