Which optic and mount for Open Glock

Bobby Carver is the way to go. He built both my Glock 17 open guns. He enlarges the ejection port so you have not problems with cases hitting the mount or c-More. Only problem I had was with Glock magazines. When you add a Taylor Freelance 10 round extension, the spring wants to "catch" as it passes into the mag. The cure: Have Beven Grams at Grams engineering build you custom mags. He gives you a new spring and follower (the stock Glock followers suck) and shows you how to use an exacto knife to ream out the base of the mag so the spring and rounds can feed unimpeded. Bobby built two Glock open guns for me at the cost of a singe STI, etc. They run without a hitch using 6.6 gn of AutoComp and a 1.145 OAL. I check all my ejected rounds and there's no sign of pressure or other problems. I've spoken to both Bobby and Beven extensively and they are both great to work with.

The carver mount is not a bad mount for his primary focus which is gssf but it does severely limit your holster choices to the cr speed that has been modified. The sjc offers many more holster options for the gun
