questions about JM Pro series 930

I have a question about the JM Pro Series 930 that I can't get answered. I have talked to Mossberg and they either don't know or won't tell me. In the 3 different adds that I have seen done by Jerry himself he says that the main magazine tube is stainless steel and that the piston is hard chromed as well as the sear in the trigger group. But in one add he says that the piston as well as magazine tube is stainless also. Well I called Mossberg and their tec people say that it is neither. all three compnents previously mentioned, are coated with a substance called boron nitrate. I did a search on this stuff and it is known to be a slick surface such as used to coat molds in making glass etc. Thats all fine and good but I am wondering how long will this stuff last? When I posed this question to Mossberg they simply said they do not know. So I said what do I do if it wears off? He said send it in and we will give you another. Well I like their attitude anyway.

I like many other people have been trying to lacate on of these for some time and have not. So today I pulled the trigger on a new Turkey model with a 24" barrel in the mossy oak break-up infinity. Since I am really not a three gun guy anyway ( to old ) I like to do some hunting and do a little exahibition shooting. Mostly throwing up clays and busting a few. I do wonder though does this coating really make a noticeable difference? You guys that own these guns , and I wish I had one, let me know what you think about this subject if you will.

Thanks.......................................

I dont think he mag tube is stainless, but ill check the next time its apart. The poston could be but is cromed. The mag tube, if coated, seems like it wouldn't last long as I need to use fine steel wool with solvent to fully remove the carbon deposits after 200 rounds. I'm sure the gun will run well for a very long time. I love my JM Pro 22" , I was lucky to find one.

I think the Mag Tube on mine is aluminum.
