mhop
i am a member of a private range and they are having a vote to put an assessment fee on each member of the club to pay for construction of new bays. the club has the funds in accounts that would pay for the construction and leave plenty to run the club without any problems. has anybody had a club request this and what was done about it did it pass what can you do to change the fee to 0? ErichF
You need to read your club's by-laws and see what powers you have as a voting member. Generally, you should be able to make a motion to cancel the vote or to set the assessment fee, and provided it is seconded, it should go to a vote. However, some clubs put this kind of thing in the hands of the Board of Directors, and the general membership doesn't get a direct say in it. Generally, you have two votes: one with your hand, the other with your feet.
