baron45 Posted July 20, 2004 Share Posted July 20, 2004 What advantages or benefits do the the Arredondo Muzzle Platforms do for both the CR Speed(WSM)and Safariland 0112 Holsters?Do they really make drawing your pistol quicker from the holsters above? I can't see that ANY holster is faster, but as far as the platforms go, they dont rub on the outside of the gun (important if you like your finish and your gun is blued) and they are more adjustable for gun types. Eye Cutter Posted July 22, 2004 Share Posted July 22, 2004 flex is right. the muzzle platform with the nipple can prevent the gun from falling out if it gets knocked accidentally from behind. regarding the draw feel, i find the safariland has a smoother draw and it has an advantage over the CR Speed. it's the safariland's butterfly retention device which hugs the trigger guard equally on both sides, and releases at the same time. Unlike the CR Speed which locks the pistol on 1 side, you feel the twisting and dragging sensation when drawing. I tried the arredondo replacement trigger bar but it's too light for me. THANKS. baron45 well, i did get the ghost holster and just to make sure tried one of the cz85b units at the gunshow just to make sure it fits. it did and i was able to lock the gun. however, when i got home and tried my 85b on it, the gun did fit but i'm not able to lock it no matter how i tried went back to the gunshow, tried the demo 85b on the holster again, same results. i thought it was probably me, so i went to my car and tried my gun again...in vain! so i gave up, returned the ghost and got myself a cr speed. its a bit more expensive but i'm pretty much satisfied why wouldn't my 85b fit while the demo unit at the show would? according to eyecutter, cz frames have slight variations in frame sizes even if its the same model. i wonder why it is so so baron, when will we see you in the range?
