jmoney
I am thinking about ordering this bulk ammo, it comes in 5k for a little over 600. These are 75 gr bullets which I am wanting since my DD carbine is a 1:7 twist. 16" barrel If anyone has any experience or advice concerning this bullet, let me know. If anyone has a good powder/primer combo that would be nice as well. Lymans 49th edition appears to be set for a 20" for their 75 gr data.
Cotys
Can't answer your question, but am interested in what you find out. I shoot a lot of Hornady 75 gr BTHP. The price is about .026 cents (2 1/2 cents) each less than Hornady, I would have expected maybe a little more. Widner's prices Hornady 600 ct at $89 = .148 cents per bullet Bulk 5000 ct at $610 = .122 cents per bullet Free shipping on the bulk saves a tad more. jmoney
wow, i didn't realize it was that close. I would rather just use hornady. only difference is that one is in stock the other isn't...I hate election years it has literally been a nightmare getting components since late 2007 Edited April 5, 2012 by jmoney
Alaskapopo
I have moved to using Nosler 77 grain bullets in bulk pack (1000) from Midway for $150 or so on sale from time to time. They shoot better for me than the Hornaday's. Pat
Cotys
Midway just had 75 gr Hornady BTHP on sale for $89 for 600. I waited to long, they are now $99. I've shot quite a few of the 77 SMK also. From my old Krieger barrel they shot the same as the 75 Hornady. I just rebarreled, so I should probably try the 69, 75 & 77 grainers again and see how each does in the new barrel.
