GhostMercury
I want to order a fiber optic front sight for my Range Officer. My only problem is that I don't have a caliper to measure with. I'm sure there are a few people on here that have done this, but do you guys remember what height you ordered?
Quack
If you look at Dawson's site, it lists what front sights work with the different rear sights. IIRC, it's a .180" front that works with the adjustable rear sights.
limited 10
I used a .180 for SA with adjustable rear sights. Don't forget to order sights for the SA dovetail. You could check with Dawsons, to be sure...
GhostMercury
I called Dawson and they actually weren't very helpfull, that's why I turned here. I will have to order a .180 then. Thanks for the help guys.
GhostMercury
Would this be the right sight? http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=2400000-1094593469 I assume the stock sight is .125 wide

I use a .100 width, but that is a personal choice. The .125 is the stock sight width.
Quack
Yep, that'll work, but i use a .100" (stock is .125")
GhostMercury
I'm using it for target shooting for now so the .125 should keep it very accurate. I'm going to keep using the M&P in competition until I can get my hands on a Dillon 650 so I can reload 45 and actually be able to afford to practice more with the RO. Dave C
Obviously a Springfield cut front site will fit your RO dovetail, but for just kicks, Dan Wesson uses the same front site dovetail cut. Your RO came with a .180 height front site. I replaced the front site on my RO with a Dawson fiber optic .100 width. I used a .160 height because I did not like the rear sight cranked up so high to get the point of impact I wanted.
