waktasz Posted January 25, 2012 Share Posted January 25, 2012 I think your answer is just that the bottom of the grip, which is where the Dawson magwell attaches, is different on the compact and the full size models, so it won't fit. The magwell sort of hooks around the front strap of the gun, and is held in place by the grip insert. It is a pretty slick design and a nice tight fit on a full size frame. firemantj Posted January 31, 2012 Share Posted January 31, 2012 That is what I ended up getting. I spent quite a bit of money to have it here before the classifier I shot on Saturday. I also got some Arredondo +0 basepad, which did not like the ZEV magwell very much. I spent a few hours filing the front of the magwell down so the mags would seat.
