SX2 / Gold Stalker models

I heard a rumor from a dealer today, via Browning and Winchester International that said the Winchester and Browning company is phasing out its line of stalker composite models in favour of 'non paramilitary' wood furniture, and the only plastic stocks etc will be available from the FN LE side of their company to military and police.

In my 2003 Browning catalog they dont even feature the stalker model ??? just the Fusion, Hunter and Sporting Clays, although the US web site does still have them.

Has anyone else heard these rumors, which I must admit to being a bit sceptical about due the the continued interest in the Mk I and Mk II models still being popular.
