KungFuNerd
Was shooting in a 30' max Range today. Using 1/4 and 1/3 Size IDPA and 4" Circles hung in groups of 4 horizontally. Working at 15', 20' and 30' I know that this approximates Sight picture, but how well does it approximate reality? Does hitting A's on a 1/4 sized target at 15 feet translate to A's at 20 Yards? I realize of course that this doesn't account for bullet trajectory. ALSO Does any one know that math for approximating Elevation? As in...if a target is supposed to be 3' off the ground at 20 yards, how high would you hang the sammer target at 10 yards? Thanks! KungFuNerd
Thinking about the height thing.... If you were simulating a 12" target that was 4 feet off the ground and 20 yards away you would place a 6" Target 10 yards away but how high? Flexmoney
Go to the search page, put in "scaled" and click on Title Search.
KungFuNerd
Go to the search page, put in "scaled" and click on Title Search. I found some good target downloads with that search but none adressed the height thing. I think I'm going to need a protractor!
DoubleA
When I dryfire with reduced sized targets I just put them generally chest high and even vary it a little. I would think it is better to learn to deal with elevation changes instead of nurturing a "sweet spot" elevation.
