Dan Bone
I'm confused.... I've installed a new 20inch barrel in my AR and to sight it in I have to drift the rear sight all the way over to the left. I took it back apart and seen that there is some play in the barrel alignment pin and the receiver. So during the next installation I preloaded the barrel (counter clockwise) so that it wouldn't slip while I torqued the nut (clockwise). Same results... I had to drift the rear sight all the way to the left. Any ideas???

Patrick Sweeney
With so many parts being made by subcontractors, I occasionally find such a mis-match. The solution for many guns was to attach my special sight-leaning fixture, drive the pins out, tilt the sight back to vertical and test fire, then re-drill the holes and re-pin the barrel. But only on rebuilds. On a new gun it goes back with a nastygram. Whose barrel? Whose upper?
