Powder Finger
FWIW: In the stone tablet days H-108 (also called accurate 9S), WW296, N350TEST(which became N105) all act the same, in that you won't get noticable velocity gains with small increases in charge weight. One reason I think causes this is the ratio of velocity/amount is low anyway. Those powders act the same way in reduced amounts. Using Bart's example of 10.8/1508 the ratio is 139.629 which is pretty low. All that out of the way these types of powders as stated are absolutly some of the safest to use in 9/38 cases to make major. In fact other that possible ignition problems I would bet you could use SPP's in them.
Magnus_no1
Interesting how different people have such different experiences... Interestingly, there may be a biological reason for this, too - I have some theories, but nothing I can prove. It's on my list of stuff to write up in a blog post at some point biological!!. English is my second language so maybe I misinterpreted. I hope so anyway.
