Getting back in and improving.

Recommended Posts

Was away from rifle shooting for the past approx. 6 months due to classes, family and work.

Shot in a steel plate rifle match this past weekend(04/02/03) after cramming in some last minute zeroing and live-fire practice days.

Felt like I was shooting for the first time. Did o.k. in the match, but was wanting to do better, and would like to do better come the next one in six months. First few shots in the match for both entry's seemed to be slow to aquire. Also, planning on getting involved reguarly in 3-Gun at the range I'm a member of.

Was planning to get back into regular dry-fire, and apply some of the Fundamentals & Technique in Words/Tips to rifle practice.

Any tips, words, direction or links to help get back to basics and be a bit better than before?

Was an above average shooter, and would like to get better.

Rifle is a FAL.

Found some good reminders in previous posts here.

To answer my own post:

Regular & proper dry-fire practice.

Get my mind into it.

Better physical condition.

Less caffine day of shoot.

Be smooth. Don't rush it.

Focus on front sight, cross-hairs, dot, etc.

Enjoy it.
