fastmtnbiker33w
I ordered 1000 55gr Armscor FMJBTC bullets from Midway at a pretty good price. I experimented with a few different loads and was surprised to see some of my loads popping primers loose. I ended up settling on much lighter loads due to the groups I was getting. I bought some more 55 gr bullets from another forum and thought..."these are MUCH smaller". Sure enough, I put both bullets on the scale and the Armscor was a 62 gr....consistent too. I've loaded over 800 rounds with the 62 gr and they are HOT. I intended to run not-so-hot loads but I'm not really complaining since they shoot well and I've placed well in both carbine/3-gun matches I've done with these loads. Just a reminder to check your bullet weights especially if you are ordering off-brand or discount type products.
Mush from PA.
Does the bullet box say 55 or 62 grain bullets? Maybe you need to talk to the supplier? Edited April 15, 2011 by Mush from PA.
fastmtnbiker33w
It said 55 gr. I probably should contact Midway to let them know. I'd prefer the 62 anyway but on the website 62 gr was more expensive. Maybe I should order a bunch more of the 55's in hopes of getting 62's.
