Well the children are old enough, interested enough, safe enough to try IDPA out. The girl child turns 12 years old just days before the first match she will be in. My son, 14 now thought IDPA might be as fun as hunting but though twice about eating the targets, after all we don't shoot what we don't eat...right dad? Smart pants. If anyone has any suggestions on gear set up that works for younger shooters let me know. All we have in the house right now is a G26 and Colt Defender. I think for starting out I think I want them shooting something a little closer to full size and 9mm, but they both are use to single action triggers from hunting and think mom's G26 has a trigger that stinks.
