unionman
I have 500 MG jhp and some vv 320. I did some searches and some book looking but can't seem to find something that matches. I used 4.8 of the VV 340 @ 1.14 col and had good results. But would like to try the 320 Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks for your input I use the 320 with MG 147 @ 1.14 and it is sweet shooting
DougCarden
4.5gr 320 with that bullet at 1.120 OAL will give you a 125-130PF load that is soft and accurate, if that is what you were looking for.... Good luck, DougC
G-ManBart
Are you shooting 9x19, .38 Super, or something else? VV data for 115gr Hornady XTP bullets will work perfectly in either cartridge. Edited January 31, 2011 by G-ManBart

G-ManBart
shooting a sig 226 and a glock 26....wasnt sure if that data would work ... thanks for info doug and g-man bart Oh yeah, the XTP and MG 115gr JHP are pretty darned close in shape and size. The most important variable is case volume used, i.e. where the bottom of the bullet winds up. So, if you load a shorter bullet, at the same OAL, you'll get lower pressure/velocity and vice-versa. Certainly, you wouldn't want to start with a max load, but the starting load, or something in the middle would be fine. Keep in mind it's not uncommon for MG bullets to take a bit more powder to get the same velocity as some others...but it's not normally a huge difference.
