Pa Shooter RLL
I would like to know if anyone out there has a good load for shooting steel targets? (Pa Steel League) Do not have to knock them down! I'm using a Springfeild XD40.
carter300
Any Power Factor have to be met? Out of my XD 40 service, I like 3.3 TG, about 126 PF ( MG 180gr JHP). That is enough to knock'em down, big poppers I can hit above the sweet spot and send them down.

Pa Shooter RLL
No power factor to meet. Just hit it hard enough to mark the paint. Cycle the gun fast and on to the next target. (3.3 tight group) Thank You Pa Shooter RLL
Mat Price
+1 on the 3.3 grain. you can play with your recoil spring drop it a few pounds if it fails to cycle the slide. I use 4.2 grains to make major with a 180 gr LRN and it is soft 3.3 grains and a 180 is like shooting a pellet gun. also i load mine to to an OAL of 1.
Flexmoney
Search the main reloading forum, in the 40 section...for "minor" loads.
TonyT
If you shot static steerl plates then whatever cycles the gun will work. Most plate racks and poppers are set up to falll with certainty at 135 PF = 135gr bullet at 1000fps. You may also have to consider any club or league rules.
