twikster
Surrender always seemed to cost me about .10 second, as vs hands at sides. Maybe, if I'd worked at it to the exclusion of all else, that diff could have been erased. Have you tried parade rest, or "crucified"?
pjb45
What is the total time? If you are talking .1 difference in a sub zero draw then that is really no difference. If your draws are in the 1.5 range then all you draws need help. Typically I do draws and my practices at 22-35 yards, so I can live with a 1.3-1.7 draw. Most of my targets have something on them, i.e., hard cover (not so much) and no shoots (very much). Rarely do I do a Bill Drill but when I do them it is usually in a sub 2 range. My draws are sub-second. My normal draw and surrender draws are pretty close in time. For me, I know my skill set and what needs work at my level. A sub second draw is really not going to help me. A solid safe draw is what I want, time after time. IMHO, rarely is a stage won because of the draw. It is won in the foot movement between shooting areas. Sure your splits can help reduce your time but movement is where you are going to save buckets of time.
