lumpygravy
It's been a long time since the last post. Reasons for the layoff: 1/ found cracks in the old limited gun frame 2/ OAL problems with single stack ammo Upside: Lots of practice clearing malfunctions Now running DC Ammo (45) and have not had an ammo malf in ~500 rounds Shooting SSD and with the ammo problems has helped to heighten the need to AIM and call all shots. I have noticed a decrease in misses in practice and yesterdays classifier match (1 over 5 stages that was really a failure to correctly count shots on a VC stage) Looking forward to getting a SSD classification and bouncing between Limited and SSD. lumpygravy
It's been 6-7 months since the last update (Jan) and several events of note have transpired: got my SSD B card early Feb got my SV limited gun in early Feb broke it in and returned to Limited shot a few matches with my usually accumulation of penalties decided in April to focus on points and ignore time began to see the sights and call my shots more consistently shot a "one-mike" match early July - a first ever shot the GBC late July at just under 89% of points including 3 mikes - 92% ignoring mikes Given what little dry fire practice time I put into this past time, I'm satisfied. I'm consistently shooting mid-pack Limited for the moment as opposed to cellar dweller when I give up the usual number of M/NS that was par for the course when I first came back. I'm having a LOT of fun and my only worries are when do I order the next lot of ammo. Edited August 1, 2012 by lumpygravy
lumpygravy
2012 GBC observations: 92% of available points ignoring mikes, 89% counting 3 mikes two mikes on last array of last stage of day 1 - tired? one mike on approach to an open target on day 2 - no excuse slow and extra shots needed on stars - need work on moving steel major slip-n-fall on stage 3 - but didn't DQ threw an unnecesary reload on a stage - thinking about shooting single stack? could have reloaded earlier on another stage - didn't cost me, but shows poor stage planning had zero front sight focus on the all popper stage cleaned the DT and clamshell Match stats: 240+ entries 23rd of 56 Limited 8th of 11 B Class Highest stage: 9th place Lowest stage: 33rd place (2) Match percentage: 73%
