New multigunner from Las Vegas

Hey, I discovered USPSA multi-gun recently and I am hooked, they host a rinki dink match once a month out at boulder city here with a super low round count and club rules. There is supposedly a better match out at desert sportsman but I haven't had the chance to try it. Anyone know about that one?

I've been soaking up tons of information about the sport and the biggest thing I've read over and over for beginners is dont waste time, take a class or get instruction so you don't reinforce bad habits. Anyone know any good instruction near Las Vegas?

Ive also been trying to figure out how getting your classification works, I'm assuming I have to attend sanctioned matches to get a rating? Does this happen automatically when placing in a uspsa multigun match? Do i need to be a member of USPSA? I havnt really found a good FAQ on this so if someone could point my in a good direction i would appreciate it, thank you and hello from vegas!

I had the pleasure of shooting a 3-gun match out at Desert Sportsman.

Honestly, you can get a ton of good (and free) instruction by being helpful and asking the guys you are shooting with lots of questions. There are several top-notch 3-gun shooters that regularly shoot at Desert Sportsman. Show up early, help setup, stay after, help tear down, and LISTEN.
