Anopsis
I have an 8 shot metal extension on my Mossberg 9200 (NOT the "A1"). The barrel on it currently is 26" VR with a Poly-choke installed (28" OAL). This beast is long and heavy as you can imagine. I found an 18.5" CB barrel for it and I'm wondering about how far out the tube can be before the pattern is adversely affected or the tube becomes damaged. I have seen some pretty crazy 3 gun shotguns with mag tubes that were longer than the barrel, so given this info, will it work? Any suggestions on improving the process? Thanks all! The white line is the approximate muzzle of the short barrel.
smokshwn
You should be fine. There will be some vaporized lead buildup on the tube but at that 6" distance you are still essentially shooting a slug of lead.
Jesse Tischauser
My 12 round tube sticks out past my 21" barrel a lot farther than 6".
Anopsis
Thanks guys. I wasn't sure if I should do it or not; time to place the order!
