ALBY
ugh the data looks better in excel. anyway... 75gr BTHP with 24 gr TAC is my new long distance/zombie load. 55gr sp with 25 gr tac is my new plinker load.
sierra77mk
I may go back and work up a TAC load for the VNSP's I gave up after poor results with 748 and 335. What groups did your VNSPs give you? What's your barrel twist rate?
ALBY
my tube is 16in with a 1/9 twist. its a bushmaster vmatch and is not chromed. the msvn do not group as well as BH red bx 55 gr, which is what my gun likes and groups the best for 55gr pills. they group better than UMC though. under 200 yards the MSVN SP are fine. they appear to be blemished rem corelokt IMO. my die leaves a little ring around the top of the bullet, but hell, im shooting a varmit bullet for half what UMC ball costs, so im ok with that. the MSVN HP are nice looking bullets. but for true beauty, the hornady 75 gr BTHP match are just awesome bullets. im picking those up for $82 fer 600 from midsouth. ALBY
western has retracted the load data for tac and you need to write them to get the update. but i believe the previous iteration had the max charge listed at 23.6 for .223 chambers and 75 gr projectiles. so my load is over max. but there were no pressure signs other than slightly flattened primers. my 75 gr are 150fps faster than TAP. My tube stabilizes these projectiles out to 200 yards, so im pleased with that. i was also pleased with the sd'S on the 75 gr loads. my optic is not good for shooting groups. the DMS lit reticle is weak and you end up trying to align a black dot on a black shoot n see with 4x at 200 yds. ths does lend itself to shooting cloverleafs. i was a l;ittle jammed for time and was not really shooting groups per se. just trying to get some velocity data to determine which charge to load. now that i know they are safe, I am going to air the load out at longer range and attempt to shoot some groups. ill update with pics when i can. this was one of the 200 yard targets. got a few extra holes in it as the boy got bang away also.
